PASTOR
Charles E. Cofield Jr.

Charles E. Cofield, Jr. was born on May 25, 1971 to the union of Charles E. Sr. and Carolyn Cofield as the oldest of seven children. He was reared in Kansas City, Kansas as a preacher’s kid, where he graduated from Schlage High School. He later received a degree in Mortuary Science in 1995.
Reverend Cofield was called to the ministry in 1993 and faithfully served as an Associate Minister at the Word of Life Fellowship Church under the leadership of his father, Elder Charles E. Cofield, Sr. In 1999, he became a member of the former Freeman Avenue Church of God, presently known as Kansas City Community Church, becoming a licensed minister in 2003. For 10 years he was employed with the Johnson County Police Department. In 2014, he was blessed to become part owner/operator of Peaceful Rest Funeral Chapel in Topeka, KS.
Reverend Cofield has served at Kansas City Community Church with an Ecclesiastes 9:10 mentality, “whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your strength” – from playing the drums as well as the keyboard, to serving as Youth Pastor, to Associate Pastor. He also served on the National Church of God Executive Committee as an events coordinator for eight years.
He accepted the call and was installed as Senior Pastor of Kansas City Community Church on Sunday, August 21, 2016. Under Pastor Cofield’s leadership, KCCC has experienced significant spiritual, physical, and financial growth. He has a heartfelt vision to build God’s Kingdom, from the inside out, by ministering to the whole community through the written word and winning souls for Christ.
He and his wife Joycelene (Joy), who also shares greatly in the ministry, have two adult children, Keaton and Kennedy.
